Rhiannon's first speech therapy session was successful. Ella came over and sat with my mother-in-law, Rhiannon and myself for an hour. We all played a little and went over more basic sign-language during the session. Rhiannon never ceases to amaze me with her intelligence! Rhiannon watched Ella sign "OPEN" several times and then she grew impatient for a few seconds wanting a toy Ella had in a plastic zip lock baggy. Rhiannon sitting on the floor took her right hand and placed in on top of her left hand and perfectly signed "OPEN" to Ella! This was out of the blue and as she did this sign, Ella and I were just discussing how I think Rhiannon is very stubborn and used to getting her own way by screaming, pointing and crying!
I think Rhiannon is off to a good start at this point but only time will tell.
My first blog is a short one as I am over due for sleep at this time. Tomorrow morning is Rhiannon's check up with my family doctor to see if the antibiotics relieved any of the pressure that is built up in Rhiannon's left ear. I will be back this week or weekend to update with the findings of her appointment and how our sessions are moving along.
I will write a complete blog on Rhiannon's new Journey but wanted to get this up and going for those who is requesting to follow along with Rhiannon's journey!
